Innovation is now more than a buzz word. It's a need and a weapon agaisnt economic crisis. Today, Moody's announced a new cut in Portuguese debt rating. With a high unemployment rate, and with low perspectives of economic growth, Europe and Portugal face a huge challenge.
Both need to develop economic policies which improve innovation practices in enterprises and universities too. Like universities starting to teach their courses only using english. This policy would probably benefit our competitiveness, specially in the southern countries of europe, where firms aren't international players yet, facing huge difficults to achieve their own business internationalization.

These policy could develop skills in workers and more important, change the social and cultural barriers among european citizens, improving the european integration sense. We need to solve Europe's problems. European Union is a giant envolved in inertia. Our cultural, social and economic system is caotic. We need policies that solve this problems. Policies that help small entrepreneurs and SME's. Policies which improve our innovation practices. We need a better education system and new knowledge networks. We need to start to work as a solid bloc. What to you think about this?
